Community Bike Collective Launches New Website to Expand Access to Bikes, Rides, and Community for Santa Cruz County Youth

Watsonville, CA (April 6, 2026) — The Community Bike Collective, a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved youth and families through the joy of cycling, has officially launched its new website at https://communitybikecollective.org/.

The refreshed online platform streamlines how locals can donate bikes, volunteer for repairs, lead rides, and get involved — making it easier than ever to turn gently used bicycles into life-changing opportunities for Santa Cruz County residents.

“Our mission is to connect people to nature, their community, each other, and themselves through the joy of biking,” the organization states on the new site. “Changing lives from the seat of a bike.”

Since launching operations in 2020, the all-volunteer Collective has focused on providing free bikes, repairs, safety education, and guided rides to youth and families facing economic barriers. The new website highlights three easy ways for the public to participate:

  • Donate a Bike: Anyone can fill out a simple online form to donate a bicycle. The Collective accepts bikes of any size or condition as long as they are not completely rusted. Donated bikes are refurbished and matched with individuals in need.
  • Fix a Bike: Quarterly volunteer repair sessions welcome mechanics of all skill levels to help tune up donated bikes. Sessions often include hands-on learning, such as fixing flat tires.
  • Lead a Ride: Experienced cyclists can sign up to guide free, fun group rides for local youth, helping build confidence, skills, and community connections on the trails.

The site also features impact highlights, volunteer sign-up forms, and clear information about the organization’s location at 345 Harvest Drive in Watsonville. It emphasizes the transformative power of biking for physical health, mental well-being, and lifelong habits — programs that include skills progression, badge-earning pathways, and access to trails that many local youth otherwise lack.

Community leaders and volunteers have praised the new digital home for its clean, user-friendly design and strong calls to action, which are expected to boost donations and participation in the coming months.

The Community Bike Collective operates entirely through community support and volunteers. To get involved, donate a bike, or learn more about upcoming rides and repair events, visit the new website: https://communitybikecollective.org/.
