Help us transform the community

Biking programs for all…

Select a way to get involved

In the past year, the Community Bike Collective refurbished more than 100 bikes for individuals in need across Santa Cruz County! We’ve discovered that our straightforward approach of collecting donated bikes, giving them a fresh lease on life, and then sharing them with deserving people brings joy at every step of the journey. The smiles we see motivate us to keep going, and we hope you share that feeling.

Donate

To donate a bike, please complete the form below. Our team will contact you to match your bike with someone in need. We accept any bike that is not completely rusted, regardless of size or condition.

We’re looking for volunteers skilled in bike maintenance or those wanting to learn to fix flat tires. Join us quarterly to repair bikes for youths in need. Help give a deserving youth the freedom of a bike. Sign up today.

Ride with Us

We organize bike rides across Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. Our primary focus is on off-road trails, but we are more than willing to arrange road rides, pump track events, Learn to Ride sessions, or neighborhood safety rodeos.

We can either welcome to our Launch Pad or meet you at the intended destination. The benefit of meeting at the Launch Pad is that participant can select their own bikes. If meeting at the trailhead, we request a roster of names and heights of participants in advance so that the ride leader(s) can select bikes appropriately

  • Our trailer can accommodate up to 20 bikes and our van can hold 6 passengers.
  • It is preferred to have a ratio of 4-5 youth per adult. Groups requesting rides should expect to have chaperones/volunteers join. CBC will provide a ride leader and possibly other volunteers as well.
  • Waivers signed by a parent or guardian will be required.

We typically ride for 2-4 hours including a break for lunch. Depending on the group’s interest and energy level, rides can be shortened or lengthened to suit.
We usually ride together as a group with leads and sweeps. We regroup frequently – nobody left behind!

We’d LOVE feedback! We need to know what you loved and what we can do better. Please respond to our after ride survey.

Please submit a ride request using the form below.

7-8 Passenger Van or SUV

We’re in search of a new van or SUV to replace “Betty,” our trusty workhorse that has served us well but is now ready for retirement. We’re feeling a bit nostalgic, knowing how much she has contributed, and we would greatly appreciate your help in finding a suitable replacement.
